People attending Mayo University Hospital in Castlebar last year paid €166,100.15 in car parking charges.
Figures for parking charges at hospitals across the country have been obtained and released by Kildare based Labour Deputy Mark Wall, who made the request to Health Minister Jennifer Carroll McNeill.
The report does not specify whether the charges in Castlebar fall as gross revenue or net income.
So far in 2025, €45,425.85 has been paid in parking charges at MUH.
Portiuncula University Hospital recorded a lower figure in parking charges – coming in at a net income of €114,940.68.
At Sligo University Hospital, a gross revenue of €410,581 was recorded for parking, while the net income at University Hospital Galway last year stood at €1,134,994.
Already, over a quarter of a million has been paid for parking at UHG – which is almost €50,000 more than MUH since the start of 2024.
