Inbound flights from Edinburgh, East Midlands and Liverpool airports are diverting away from Knock airport this afternoon, to various other airports.
Knock Airport has said they are hoping to operate outbound flights, as soon as wind levels drop to an acceptable level.
The airport is currently fully operational, however airlines have chosen not to carry out flights in the interest of safety.
The inaugural meeting was held without the local media invited.
