An orange level fire risk warning has been announced by the Department of Agriculture, Food and the Marine (DAFM).
The warning is now in place and will continue until Monday May 12.
According to the department, this is due to current weather patterns, and a high fire risk is “deemed to exist in all areas where hazardous fuels such as dead grasses and shrub fuels such as heather and gorse exist”.
A public warning has been issued, with DAFM urging the public to “be prepared, be vigilant and prevent forest fires”.
If you see a fire, do not delay. Report it to the Fire Service straight away by calling 999 or 112.
Do not wait for somebody else to make the call.
