The percentage of uninsured private cars on our roads has almost halved.
It’s being put down to the introduction of the new system to help Gardaí detect uninsured drivers.
The Motor Insurers’ Bureau of Ireland says private uninsured cars make up 4 point 2 per cent of the private fleet across the country.
