Sligo County Council have issued a warning to any member of the public planning on swimming in Enniscrone.
People are being advised not to swim at the Enniscrone Promenade, beside the old Cliff Baths, due to dangerous rip currents.
This warning is of particular significance, given the warm weather that is expected to last throughout the week in the west.
Local councillor Joe Queenan says that it is very important that visitors obey this notice as lifeguards do not go on duty in Enniscrone until the summer months.
