A new Sergeant has started this week at the Garda station in Ballaghaderreen.
That’s according to Sinn Fein TD Claire Kerrane, who has confirmed the Sergeant began work in the Roscommon town this week.
Additionally, she says, another garda member has transferred in and additional resources are being made available.
The deputy says this is welcome news, as it means there will now hopefully be an increase in Garda visibility in the area.
Deputy Kerrane says a rural Garda plan is now needed to ensure Garda visibility and presence in our towns and villages.
