A new poll suggests it could be “political suicide” to support Conor McGregor in a presidential bid.
The former UFC fighter would require the nomination of 20 members of the Oireachtas, or four local authorities to get on this year’s ballot paper.
Over two thirds of people say they would be less likely to vote for their local TD or councillor in the next election, if they nominated him – according to the latest Sunday Independent/Ireland Thinks poll.
