A new Fire Training Centre has been officially opened at Ireland West Airport.
The facility was opened by Minister for Transport and Climate, Energy and the Environment, Darragh O’Brien, and is designed to enhance airport safety, emergency preparedness and firefighter training.
The centre will allow airport fire crews to carry out practical, on-site training, helping to improve emergency response capabilities while supporting ongoing safety and regulatory requirements.
The project received more than €2.3 million in Government funding through the Regional Airports Programme. Speaking at the opening, Minister O’Brien said the investment demonstrates the Government’s commitment to regional airports and will help maintain the highest standards of aircraft rescue and firefighting.
Ireland West Airport says the new training centre forms part of its ongoing investment programme to strengthen airport operations and support future growth.
