Mayo College of Further Education & Training (MCFET) has once again been recognised as the Best Further Education Provider in Ireland, securing the top national accolade at the Education Awards 2026 for the second consecutive year.
The repeat honour underscores the college’s sustained excellence in further education and training, reflecting high standards in teaching and learning, a strong focus on learner support, and deep-rooted collaboration with employers and community partners throughout Mayo and the wider western region.
Reacting to the announcement, Principal Michael Murphy said the award reflects a collective effort across the college and beyond:
“This award for the second consecutive year is a tribute to the vision, passion and resilience of our staff, students and community partners. We are proud to lead the way in transforming lives through further education and to showcase what Mayo and the West of Ireland can achieve on a national stage.”
The achievement was also welcomed by Mayo, Sligo and Leitrim Education and Training Board (MSLETB).
Chief Executive Tom Grady described the college as an exemplar of further education provision:
