The N5 dual carriageway between Westport and Castlebar will be closed for up to five nights over the coming weeks to facilitate verge cutting.
To allow the grass verge to be trimmed, the €250 million road has been closed annually as there is insufficient space in the hard shoulder for traffic to continue.
In accordance with Section 75 of the Roads Act, 1993 and the Roads Regulations, the road will be closed for up to five nights between tonight (Monday July 14) and Sunday July 27, between 7:oopm and 6:00am.
The stretch from Turlough to Westport will be opened earlier if works are completed early.
Diversional routes will be in place.
