A motorcyclist has died in a fatal road traffic collision in Galway.
The crash involved a single motorcycle in Carraghy, on the N83 Claregalway to Tuam road.
Gardaà and emergency services responded to the collision at approximately 11:40pm yesterday.
The motorcyclist, a man in his 30s, was pronounced dead at the scene. His body has since been removed to University Hospital Galway where a post-mortem examination will take place.
A Forensic Collision Investigators examination is currently being conducted at the scene.
The road remains closed at this time, with local diversions in place.
Gardaà are appealing to anyone who may have been travelling on the N83 between Claregalway and Tuam between 11:00pm and 11:40pm, to come forward.
Anyone who may have witnessed the collision or who may have dashcam or other relevant footage is asked to contact any Garda station.
