A review is underway at St. Fionnan’s Community Nursing Unit in Achill following a minor electrical fire over the weekend.
The local fire service were called to the scene of the incident on Sunday morning and were assisted by HSE maintenance staff.
The HSE have informed Midwest News that the damage which resulted from the fire was very limited, and there were no reported injuries or smoke inhalation.
All residents and staff are safe, they said, and the unit is operating as normal.
The HSE are currently reviewing the cause of the fire, and they plan to follow up on works which may be required.
