Minister says fuel protestors have “gone too far”

Fuel protesters have announced a third day of action.

O’Connell Street in Dublin city remains blocked by tractors, lorries and buses this morning, with traffic on the quays at a standstill since 6am.

There’s traffic disruption nationwide, with sections of motorways and national roads in Tipperary, Limerick and Cork closed.

Fuel depots are blocked in Galway, and all major routes to Dublin are becoming congested as convoys head to the capital for the second day.

It’s now confirmed the protests will continue tomorrow.

The Public Expenditure Minister says the protestors have taken their demonstrations too far.
