Midlands North West MEP Ciarán Mullooly has called for a feasibility study to be carried out on the Claremorris – Sligo rail link.
This comes following a visit of his colleagues from the European Parliament’s Committee on Regional Development (REGI), which he is part of.
The REGI delegation, including MEPS from Slovakia, Poland, Portugal and Spain, have extensive experience in rail development and have overwhelming support for MEP Mullooly’s call for the prioritization of the western rail corridor.
He also stated that he believes that procurement work on the Claremorris rail link will begin before the end of the year.
