An MEP says Europe needs to make fishing quotas more fair to ensure jobs aren’t lost here.
Almost 2 thousand positions could go in the processing sector following a recent report from the International Council for the Exploration of the Seas.
New EU scientific advice will mean steep quota cuts this year, including a major reduction in mackerel.
Fianna Fail MEP Cynthia Ni Mhurchu says we can’t afford to lose any more:
charge on parcels worth less than 150 euro from outside the EU.
