Mayo towns to host St. Patrick’s Day parades today

Despite St. Patrick’s Day being a day away, a number of parades will be held across the county this afternoon.

With the national holiday being celebrated on a Monday this year, some parades will take place on Sunday, giving parade-goers the chance to take in more events over the weekend.

Bangor Erris and Killala will get things underway from 12:30pm, while there’s a 3:00pm start for Claremorris and Kiltimagh.

Foxford’s parade will commence at 4:00pm, before the exciting Electric Light Parade in Crossmolina which starts at 7:30pm.

There will also be a Children’s Parade in Kilkelly from 5:00pm.

Monday March 17:

Castlebar Parade – 12:00pm

Eachléim Parade – 12:00pm

Westport Parade – 12:00pm

Charlestown Parade – 1:00pm

Binghamstown Parade – 1:30pm

Ballina Parade – 3:00pm

Belmullet Parade – 3:00pm

Swinford Parade – 3:00pm

Newport Parade – 3:30pm
