Mayo TD says entire community shocked over Gena Heraty

Intensive talks are ongoing to try and secure the release of Mayo woman Gena Heraty.

The charity worker remains in captivity in Haiti after being kidnapped over the weekend at the orphanage where she works.

She has worked in Haiti for over 30 years and was previously harmed during a robbery in 2013.

Westport based Fine Gael TD Kiera Keogh says the entire community is shocked.

Deputy Keogh says everything that can be done is being done to ensure the safe return of Gena.
