The second stage of the bill introducing amendments to Defective Concrete Block redress legislation were carried out in the Dáil chamber yesterday evening.
Yesterday morning at 10am, further amendments were sent to TDs.
Erris based Sinn Fein TD Rose Conway-Walsh described the Government’s decision to publish the Defective Concrete Blocks Amendment Bill just eight hours before the Second Stage debate as ‘deliberate and disgraceful’.
The vote will happen tonight and will go to committee stage next week.
Deputy Conway-Walsh says the bill still locks a significant cohort of people out of the scheme.
She says the amendment only increases for cover from the 29th of March which is really disappointing that there are a number of people who still won’t be able to avail of the extra 10%.
She has been giving more details to Midwest Radio’s Michael D. McAndrew.
