Two Mayo students have won top prizes in this year’s 72nd Texaco Children’s Art Competition.
They are Belle Costello (6) from Cong National School and Annamária Pécsi (15) from Sacred Heart Secondary School, Westport. Both were winners of Special Merit Awards for artworks.
Adjudicator, Irish visual artist, curator and educator, Pauline O’Connell described the works as “imaginative and demonstrating high levels of skill and creativity’.
No stranger to the Competition, Annamária also won a Special Merit Award in 2024.
