The need for the Minister for Transport to make a statement on planned upgrades to the N26 and N58, including the funding allocated to address traffic congestion and road safety issues in county Mayo was raised by Ballina based Fine Gael Senator Mark Duffy in the Seanad this morning.
Under commencement matters he addressed the issues with Minister of State at the Dept of Transport Jerry Buttimer.
The Minister again confirmed that the preferred route option for the second phase of the N26 – Mount Falcon to Foxford road will be completed by the end of this year.
