Mayo has ranked amongst the lower numbers of IDA site visits over the past decade.
The IDA aims to attract Foreign Direct Investment to the country
Figures published in today’s Irish Independent show 35 IDA site visits with foreign companies took place in the county between 2015-2024, while Galway had almost twelve times that figure, with 409 visits. Roscommon had a total of 28, while Sligo totalled 137.
The numbers also show that 43% of the visits took place within Dublin.
The IDA currently has 1800 firms under its remit, with 300,000 jobs in the FDI sector.
