Mayo County Council have confirmed several road closures and diversions this evening, due to damage from Storm Amy.
Contractors are en route to assist in removing fallen trees, blocking the R312. The area was previously flooded as well. It’s hoped the road will be cleared and reopened by later tonight. Northbound traffic can use the L5709 at Boggy via Lahardane, southbound traffic can use the R316 towards Castlehill.
The L-1611 Roundfort/Ballinrobe Road is closed, with diversions in place.
The road is flooded this evening at Duffy’s Corner on the Ballinrobe to Clonbur Road, however the road is passable with care.
The L-1609 Kilmaine to Roundfort Rd. is closed due to fallen tree. Local diversions are in place
Trees were reported down on the following roads in and around Ballina; R294 Behy, N26 near Hollister, R310 Barnfield, R314 Rathroeen. Roads are passable with care, and crews will attend when it’s safe to do so.
