A Mayo family are among the competitors on this year’s Ireland’s Fittest Family.
The RTÉ show has returned for 2025, and the McDonagh family from Geesala will be hoping to go all the way.
Pat McDonagh is joined on the team by his three children Matthew, Leah and Daniel.
Pat is a coach with Geesala Boxing Club, as well as being an international coach and referee. Leah is an Irish champion, while Daniel has competed in two All Ireland finals. Matthew has also competed at the highest level and fought Paddy Donovan in the past, who recently boxed for a World Title.
Paying tribute on social media, local councillor Gerry Coyle said that the McDonaghs are ‘wonderful pillars of the community’ and will be a ‘force to be reckoned with’ on Ireland’s Fittest Family.
Ireland’s Fittest Family kicks off this Sunday at 6:30pm.
