Many remain without phone and broadband service

Over 70 days on from Storm Eowyn, a number of homes and businesses across the region are still without phone service and broadband.
Sinn Fein Deputy Claire Kerrane raised her concerns with the Minister for Communications and he says that the telecom companies are privately owned and that their ‘hands were tied’.
Deputy Kerrane called on the Minister to make contact with the relevant companies to ensure they have the adequate resources to carry out all repairs.
Additionally, she has urged anyone who has received a refusal letter from the HAS scheme, or indeed received a payout figure they are unhappy with, to lodge a written appeal to the Government.
Letters of appeal can be sent to SWA review officer, PO Box 700, Dublin 22.
