Emergency services are tackling a major fire in County Roscommon this afternoon.
As first reported by the Roscommon Herald, the fire is engulfing forestry and fields.
It’s happening outisde Loughglynn in West Roscommon, and is being tackled by fire services from Ballaghaderreen, Ballyhaunis, Boyle and Charlestown.
The units have been at the scene since lunchtime.
According to the Herald, the fire service said that a helicopter may be needed to help fight the fire, which was described as one of the biggest in the area for several years.
The flames are close to the road and motorists are urged to exercise caution.
