A Do Not Swim notice is now in place for Carrowmore Beach, Louisburgh following the results of bathing water sampling.
Resampling has been organised.
The notice will remain in place until water quality improves.
A Local councillor feels the two treatment plants in the Louisburgh area operated by Uisce Eireann needs to be looked at again.
Independent Ireland Councillor Chris Maxwell is hopeful the Do Not Swim Notice at Carrowmore Beach will be lifted very soon.
The inaugural meeting was held without the local media invited.
