Uisce Éireann has commenced long-awaited upgrade works to replace more than 5km of ageing water mains in Cloonfad, Co. Roscommon.
The works will address a series of disruptive bursts that have impacted customers in recent years which they say will “help support the community into the future”.
These works form part of Uisce Éireann’s National Leakage Reduction Programme, and will take place between Cloonfad and Lowberry Cross.
The project will be delivered by Farrans Construction and will be complete by spring 2027. As part of the upgrade, lane closures with traffic lights will be in place on sections of the R327 to allow construction to be carried out safely.
Customers can phone Uisce Éireann on 1800 278 278 if they have any questions about the project or visit the Water Supply Updates section of the Uisce Éireann website for regular updates.
If short-term planned water disruptions are required, customers will receive at least 48 hours’ notice before any interruption.
