The ongoing interference with life saving equipment along Castlerea’s river in the town’s Demesne is a disgrace, according to Liam Scahill, the Chairman of Castlerea Towns Trust.
Last month a life buoy was taken from its fitting near to one of the bridges in the Demesne and thrown into the water.
It’s the latest in a series of incidents, and Mr Scahill is appealing to anyone who witnesses any interference with life buoys in the park to immediately contact the Gardai.
He’s been speaking to Midwest Radio’s Alannah Nolan.
