Kilcoyne calls for tea and coffee service on Mayo trains

It’s completely unacceptable that in 2026 rail passengers travelling to Dublin from county Mayo cannot get a cup of tea or bottle of water on the train. That’s according to Castlebar councillor Michael Kilcoyne.

The councillor says a patient travelling on the train for a hospital appointment in Dublin, needs to be able to purchase a cup of tea/coffee on a train.

He says it’s not good enough that Irish Rail say they are “working on” restoring this basic service, which they withdrew at the start of the Covid pandemic.

The Independent councillor is calling on Irish Rail to restore the service immediately.
