Keep pets away from chocolate

Dog owners are being reminded to keep their pets away from chocolate this Easter.
A survey by Dogs Trust found half of dog-owners say their pet has eaten chocolate in the past, however only a third are aware they should contact their vet as chocolate is poisonous to dogs.
Chocolate contains theobromine, which is a chemical that dogs struggle to metabolise.
If your dog has eaten chocolate, you need to be aware of symptoms such as vomiting, diarrhoea, excessive thirst, excitability, drooling, seizures and fatal heart issues.
