Irish Coast Guard documents operations in 2025

The Irish Coast Guard responded to almost 2,800 incidents throughout 2025.

The service – which conducted search and rescue operations, maritime casualty responses, and pollution control – provided critical assistance, meaning preventing loss of life and/or delivery of appropriate medical care, to over 1,900 people.

The organisation reached a milestone in its aviation capacity, with it commencing helicopter use at many bases, including in Sligo.
