Ireland has Europe’s largest gender gap for using advanced digital skills at work.

New ‘ESRI–BlockW’ research shows men here are twice as likely as women to use AI tools and IT system management.

Dr Adele Whelan, Senior Research Officer at the ESRI, says the gaps persist, even among women and men with similar education levels, which suggests encouraging women into STEM isn’t enough.
