The Mayo island of Inishturk will celebrate the official opening of its new helipad on Friday, May 2, at 3.30 pm.
The helipad, which was relocated from the harbour to a site just below the community centre, was made possible due to support from both the Department of Rural and Community Development and Mayo County Council.
Minister Dara Calleary will visit the island as the community marks this latest development.
Anglers with bookings affected by the closure will be contacted by IFI.
