The Irish Farmers Association is to hold a public meeting in Claremorris tomorrow to discuss ongoing protests against the chair of Bord Bia.
Larry Murrin has faced pressure from both farming groups and politicians after it was found that Dawn Farm Foods, the company of which he is CEO and a 10% owner, used Brazilian beef in its products.
Dawn Farm Foods has said that Brazilian beef made up less than 1% of its total supply in 2024.
The IFA has been protesting as they call for the resignation of Mr. Murrin, who recently appeared before the Oireachtas Agriculture Committee to answer questions on the matter.
The Mayo County Executive of the IFA last week passed a unanimous motion calling for the removal of Mr. Murrin at their Annual General Meeting at the TF in Castlebar.
The IFA will now host a public meeting in the McWilliam Hotel in Claremorris tomorrow evening which will be addressed by President of the IFA Francie Gorman.
