Both Fianna Fáil and Taoiseach Micheál Martin have taken a hit in their rankings, as support for the party slumps after the ‘housing ‘tsar’ shambles.
That’s according to the latest opinion poll out today, which also shows Finance Minister Paschal Donohoe is the country’s preferred leader for Fine Gael.
This Sunday Independent Ireland Thinks Poll shows Fianna Fail down two points at 23% and the Taoiseach’s own personal ranking down three to 46%.
Fianna Fáil remains the most popular party, and the Taoiseach remains the country’s most popular leader, followed by Simon Harris, who’s down 3 points to a 40% rating – however just a quarter of respondents support the Tánaiste staying on as FG leader, while 27% favour Paschal Donohoe.
Sinn Fein leader Mary Lou McDonald’s popularity is up two points to 36%, while Labour leader Ivana Bacik is up two points to 37.
‘Housing’ remains the biggest issue facing a Cabinet torn over the appointment of the new housing tsar…. with Immigration coming in second.
