Hottest June and July on record

Western Europe experienced its hottest June and July on record.

The Copernicus Climate Change Service says the combined average temperature was 21 point 6-2 degrees – beating the 2022 record.

Its latest report also noted very dry conditions last month, including in France, Spain and Ireland.

The world’s oceans also hit record-high temperatures for a second straight month in July, which Copernicus says was driven by marine heatwaves around Europe and the El Nino in the Pacific.
