A south Mayo councillor wants more details on the close to one million euro in compensation paid out last year by Mayo County Council as a result of the public taking actions against the authority.
At today’s monthly meeting of Mayo County Council, Independent councillor Patsy O’Brien has a motion submitted asking what action the authority is taking to address such a major expense.
He is calling on the authority to make known all settlements made to the public for 2024, for slips, trips, falls as well as settlements for pothole damages to tyres.
