Health insurance providers have been accused of ‘shrinkflation’.

Analysis shows a reduction in benefits on some plans, while the price of cover increases.

The Health Insurance Authority, says the price of premiums went up by an average of 12 per cent last year, while some went up by 26 per cent.

Insurance broker with TotalCover.ie, Dermot Goode, says customers are seeing fewer benefits as well as price hikes.
