The Government will face further questions over its response to Storm Éowyn later.

Sinn Féin has tabled a private members motion to debate the issue.

200 homes, farms and businesses remained without power overnight – more than two weeks after the storm hit.

With the Taoiseach out of the country, the usual Cabinet meeting is deferred until tomorrow, but the Government will still get a raking over the calls in the Dáil.

Along with Sinn Féin’s motion, the Social Democrats (through their spokesperson Jennifer Whitmore) has called for a Specila Oireachtas Committee to be set up to examine the Government’s inadequate response to the storm.

There’s also going to be debate in the Chamber today on the Programme for Government, before parliamentary questions from the Tánaiste and Minister for Foreign Affairs Simon Harris.
