A motorist has been arrested in County Mayo on suspicion of drug driving, after cocaine was detected to be in their system.,
Gardaí from the Mayo Roads Policing Unit conducted a number of multi-agency checkpoints yesterday across the county.
The checkpoints were conducted in conjunction with the Road Safety Authority, Customs, Social Welfare and the Garda Immigration Unit.
A number of Heavy Goods Vehicles (HGVs) were inspected, with some vehicles having bald tyres and not having their CPC cards up to date.
Gardaí also detected a motorist to have cocaine in their system.
The driver was arrested on suspicion of drug driving.
