A section of motorway between Oranmore and Galway City has fully re-opened following an incident earlier this morning.
Emergency services were called to the scene where a van caught fire.
The road was closed from Junction 19 westbound as a result, near the Coolough Roundabout.
The van has been removed and both traffic lanes are back to operating as normal.
No injuries have been reported from the incident.
Clifden RNLI's pagers sounded at 9:00pm and the lifeboats were away shortly afterwards.
