A guided boat tour in County Galway was interrupted for over 2 hours to help save a beached whale.
The minke whale calf was spotted by Damien O’Malley who was showing tourists around Roundstone Bay in Connemara on Thursday.
Those on the tour poured buckets of water on the whale while they waited for the tide to come in and eventually Damien was able to pull the calf back out to sea with his boat.

Anglers with bookings affected by the closure will be contacted by IFI.
