Five Mayo-based UBU Youth Services have collectively received €31,000 in funding as part of a €1.6m investment nationwide.
The projects being supported in the county are; North Mayo Youth Project, Involve Youth Project, Ballyhaunis Youth Service, An Cosán Erris UBU, and Castlebar with outreach to Ballinrobe UBU.
The investment is to support a wide range of improvements, including ICT and digital infrastructure, building refurbishment and premises upgrades, kitchen and domestic facilities, and others.
Minister for Rural and Community Development and the Gaeltacht and Fianna Fáil TD for Mayo Dara Calleary said; “Youth services play a vital role in supporting young people across Ireland, providing opportunities to develop skills, build confidence, foster social connections, and promote wellbeing.”
