The Cathaoirleach of the Castlebar Municipal District has welcomed funding for the construction of a pedestrian crossing in Balla.
Students at the school had recently highlighted the lack of a crossing outside the school gates along the busy road through Balla.
Cllr Donna Sheridan has received confirmation that money has been allocated for a number of pedestrian crossings in the district, including for one in Balla.
