The Alzheimer Society of Ireland (The ASI) is inviting family carers of people living with dementia in Mayo to take part in its free “Insights into Dementia – Informing and Empowering Family Carers” course this September.
This in-person programme is designed to support and educate family carers by offering practical information, emotional support, and a person-centred approach to caring.
Open to anyone caring for or supporting a family member, friend, or neighbour living with dementia, the course is led by expert ASI tutors and provides practical skills.

Venue: McWilliam Park Hotel, Kilcolman Road, Claremorris, Co. Mayo, Dates: Every Monday from 8th September to 20th October 2025
Time: 6:30pm – 9:00pm
For those unable to attend in person, the “Home-Based Care: Home-Based Education” online course will begin on 8th September 2025 and is open to participants nationwide.
An estimated 2,279 people are living with dementia in Mayo, with approximately 64,000 affected across Ireland.
