Nearly 24,000 hectares of forestry have been damaged by storms Darragh and Eowyn.
Junior Minister, Michael Healy-Rae, says satellite images show Connacht is the worst affected province, and the damage appears evenly split between public and private forests.
He says a ‘Forest Windblow Taskforce’ is putting together a plan of action for owners – and there will be ‘no nonsense’ for people applying for licenses to deal with the damage.
