Forecourts under pressure with supplies drying up

Up to 500 petrol stations could run out of fuel by the end of today, if blockades continue.

Supply has already run dry at over 100 forecourts nationwide, particularly in the west, and parts of Munster.

It comes as blockades continue today at the main depots in Galway, Limerick, and the country’s only oil refinery in Cork.

CEO of Fuels for Ireland Kevin McPartlan has been giving more details to Midwest Radio’s Scott Stephens…

With fuel shortages being reported across the region today, Midwest Radio’s Scott Stephens visited Corrib Oil’s Ballyhaunis service station and first spoke to Paul Keane who was delivering diesel supplies to the forecourt.

He was asked what his journey was like…

Midwest Radio News also spoke to motorists queued up outside the station waiting for fuel, and asked them what they thought of the whole situation…
