Emergency services were called to the scene of a fire on Achill Island yesterday afternoon.
The blaze occurred on the side of the main road through Achill, close to Ted’s pub.
It is understood that roadside commonage caught fire, and the local fire brigade were called to the scene.
Local traffic delays were caused as a result.
While there are houses located close to the fire, no injuries or serious damage has been reported.
Clifden RNLI's pagers sounded at 9:00pm and the lifeboats were away shortly afterwards.
