The next and final talk of the Mayo Historical and Archaeological Society series will be held on Wednesday, 25th March in the ATU Campus, Castlebar at 7.30pm.
The title of the presentation is ‘The Annals of the Four Masters and Mayo local history’Â . The speaker is Dr. Bernadette Cunningham.
Dr Bernadette Cunningham is a native of Corofin, Co. Galway, and a graduate of University of Galway and University College Dublin. She is a retired librarian and is now an adjunct associate professor in the Department of History, Maynooth University.
Her book on The annals of the Four Masters: Irish history, kingship and society was awarded the NUI Historical Research Prize in 2011.
