Feighan lands Fine Gael Spokesperson role

Fine Gael has appointed Sligo/ Leitrim TD Frank Feighan to the role of the party’s Spokesperson on Northern Ireland and UK relations.

A native of Boyle, Deputy Feighan first won a Dáil seat in the Roscommon/ South Leitrim constituency in 2007.

He lost his seat in 2016, before gaining re-election in Sligo/ Leitrim in 2020 and again last year.

Previously, Deputy Feighan held the role of Minister of State at the Department of Health from 2020 to 2022.

In a statement released today, Frank Feighan said:

“I’m delighted to have been asked to take on this responsibility by the Tánaiste. 

“In working through the institutions of the Good Friday Agreement and in developing relationships with my UK counterparts, I look forward to a particularly fruitful period of partnership and cooperation in the service of people across these islands.”
